A 90 cm range cooker is £143 to clean, and in Village ward, up the hill, 29.6% of households lived in detached houses in 2021. Cleaning Oven’s single oven price for oven cleaning in Wimbledon is £77.

The three Wimbledon wards, Village, Hillside and Wimbledon Town & Dundonald, held 13,701 households in 2021. Owners made up 58.5% and private renters 33.7%. Just under half (48.6%) of households had a flat, and one in five (20.0%) a terraced house. Merton’s character study traces the place from the hilltop, where the Village still is, down to the station after the railway arrived in 1838. Both SW19 and SW20 are covered.

Measuring the cooker in a Village ward house

Village ward is the house end of Wimbledon, and two in three of its households (66.5%) owned their home in 2021. Across the three wards the Valuation Office dates 47.7% of the 14,830 or so homes to before 1919. Kitchens in houses like that can hold almost anything, so measure the cooker and count its cavities before you ring. A range cooker is priced by width: a 90 cm one costs £143, and anything 100 cm or wider £167. A heat-storage cooker such as an AGA, a Rayburn or a Stanley is £143 with two ovens, and a four-oven AGA is £187. Any of these must be switched off and left to go cold first, and the office agrees the timing with you. For any of these the office may ask you for a picture by phone, to price the cooker correctly before the day. Racks and runners go to soak while the cavities and doors are cleaned by hand. Before leaving, the cleaner tries the cooker.

Parking through the tennis fortnight

The Village zones vary. In VC, VN and VOn the controls run from 8.30am until 6.30pm, Monday to Saturday. VNe is enforced on weekdays between 10am and 4pm, and VQ just from 2.30pm until 5.30pm, Monday to Friday. Then there are the Championships each summer, when the council adds restrictions round the grounds. In 2026 nobody could park on Church Road, Parkside, Marryat Road, West Side Common or part of High Street Wimbledon between 8.30am and 11.30pm on any day of the fortnight. Many roads nearby went permit-only for twelve hours a day, and some payment terminals were switched off. If you live near the grounds, keep the visit clear of the tournament and check the council’s notice for that year. On a normal day the cleaner’s parking is charged at what it cost, never above £40.

Hillside flats between tenants

Downhill towards the station the balance changes. Hillside ward was 66.2% flats in 2021, and 42.1% of its households rented privately. A tenant moving out, or a landlord or agent between lets, can book the oven by itself; what that visit covers is on the end of tenancy oven page. Carbon that has been baked on usually lifts. Enamel that is chipped or glass that has gone cloudy stays that way; point it out when you book so nobody expects otherwise at check-out.

Questions about oven cleaning in Wimbledon

Can the side module of an AGA be cleaned on the same visit?

Yes. A side module is £100 on top of the main cooker, and the whole thing must be cool when the cleaner arrives. Tell the office how many ovens and plates your AGA has.

Should a visit near the tennis grounds avoid the Championships?

It is usually easier. The council adds parking restrictions round the grounds for the Championships each summer: in 2026 some roads had no parking at all from morning to late evening, and some bays and machines were out of use. Choose a date clear of the tournament, and the office fixes it with you when you ring.

Can a 100 cm range in a Village ward house be done in one visit?

Yes, on the one visit, though it takes longer than a single oven and no finish time is given. Each cavity is emptied and its parts soaked while its walls and door are cleaned by hand. In Village ward 29.6% of households lived in a detached house in 2021, and a big kitchen there may hold a master range, £167.
