Mansion blocks of about five storeys face the park along Prince of Wales Drive, and the oven can be on any floor of them. The cleaner carries the equipment up, and oven cleaning in Battersea with Cleaning Oven starts at £77.

Flats made up the homes of 82.7% of households in 2021 in the Battersea Park, St Mary’s and Shaftesbury & Queenstown wards, which had 22,063 households in all; for 69.5% of households the flat was in a purpose-built block. Renting was split: 36.2% from a private landlord and 27.6% from a council or housing association, a higher social share than Wandsworth’s 19.3%, with 33.2% owning. The homes fall in SW11, SW8 and SW18.

Mansion flats on the park side

Overstrand Mansions came first of the seven main blocks on Prince of Wales Drive, and the last was done by 1902; the Battersea Park conservation area was drawn round them and the park in November 1988. When you book, give the block, the flat number and the floor, and tell the office if the stairs are the only way up. Everything the cleaner uses is carried in, so a clear hallway helps. A kitchen in a flat like that usually has a built-in single under the worktop or a double in a tall housing. Shelves and side runners come out to soak; the oven walls, the seal and the glass are cleaned by hand, and the inner pane only on doors designed to open up. The office asks the make and model for that reason.

Stock brick cottages on the Shaftesbury Park Estate

Building ran from 1873 to 1877: houses of two floors each, in stock brick with Gothic detail, most now managed by Peabody. An Article 4 direction there means that new windows or doors, or painting the outside walls, need planning permission. In a cottage kitchen the cooker is usually a single, or two doors at standard width priced as a double at £110. Sabine Road, through the middle of the estate, is zone C3: its bays are enforced Monday to Friday between 9.30am and 5.30pm, with two hours allowed in some and four in others. During those hours the cleaner pays to park, and that figure goes onto your bill unchanged, capped at £40.

Saturday bays round Battersea High Street

Zones B1 and B2 cover Battersea High Street and are controlled only on weekdays, 9.30am to 4.30pm, with four hours allowed in most bays. A Saturday booking there falls outside those hours, though double yellow lines apply at all times. The council lists the High Street estate blocks by name (Lindsay Court, Humphrey Court and Morgan Court among them), so put the block in the address. None of the three wards here is in a selective licensing designation, so letting to one household needs no licence from the council, though shared homes come under the borough-wide HMO scheme. A tenant leaving, or a landlord between lets, can book the move-out oven clean.

Questions about oven cleaning in Battersea

What does the office need to know about a mansion flat?

The block, the floor, the flat number and whether there is a lift. Say too how the cleaner gets through the street door, for example an entryphone or a door code, because you or someone you trust needs to let them in.

Is parking on Prince of Wales Drive included in the price confirmed on the call?

No, it is added on top, at cost and never above £40, while the price the office confirms covers the cleaning. Along Prince of Wales Drive, and on stretches of Battersea Park Road, the zone B controls run every day of the week until 8pm, starting at 9am, so a visit to a mansion flat there will usually mean a paid bay for the cleaner.

Will a four-hour stay on Prince of Wales Drive cover the job?

For a single oven, usually. The zone B bays along that road take stays of up to four hours, and a single is normally done in 40 to 90 minutes. A double or a range takes longer, so list everything you want cleaned when you ring, and the office works out the parking with you on the call. The price list shows each item.
