Purpose-built blocks dominate Brixton North, while nearly one household in three in Brixton Acre Lane lived in a split house in 2021. In either kind of flat, oven cleaning in Brixton with Cleaning Oven costs £77 for a single.

This page follows Lambeth’s four Brixton wards (Acre Lane, North, Rush Common and Windrush), which counted 23,724 households in 2021. Of those, 79.2% had a flat: a block flat for 54.6%, and for 21.9% part of a house that had been split up. Social renting accounted for 41.6% and private renting 28.9%. The postcode districts are SW2 and SW9, with a strip of SW4 to the west.

Shared stairs in Brixton Acre Lane ward

Acre Lane is where the split houses cluster, with 31.3% of that ward’s households in one at the census and 36.4% renting privately. A flat like that usually shares its street door and stairs with the neighbours, so the cleaner carries everything up. The Trinity Gardens conservation area shows the mix, with imposing early 19th century houses along Acre Lane, smaller terraces leading into Trinity Gardens and the late Victorian City of London Almshouses. Closer to the town centre, St John’s Crescent has older houses of three floors above a half-sunk basement. Give the office your floor, the flat letter on the bell and how the street door is opened. In a converted flat the kitchen can be small, so clear the worktop by the oven. Shelves, tray and runners soak while the cavity walls and the door glass get hand work. Then everything is refitted and the oven is heated briefly as a check. The end of tenancy oven page lists the lot.

A lunchtime zone on Brixton Hill

Parking rules change within a few streets. On Brixton Hill, zone F needs a permit or a paid session only between 12pm and 2pm on weekdays, yet its neighbour, zone D, is enforced through the whole working day. Brixton Inner (BI), by the station, adds Saturdays to that. A morning visit in zone F can often start and finish before the controls begin. Where the cleaner has to pay, you are charged the amount spent and no more than £40. An estate car park keeps its own rules, so mention one on the call.

Estate blocks in Brixton North and the Somerleyton Road homes

Brixton North is mostly blocks, with 73.1% of households in purpose-built flats at the census and 54.3% renting from a social landlord. More are on the way in central Brixton: the council announced in March 2026 that building had begun on 187 social and affordable homes in Somerleyton Road, part of a 378-home council scheme. A block flat, old or new, usually has a built-in oven with a hob above it. A glass-topped hob can be added for £23 and a gas one for £28, and the hob cleaning page explains the rest. A double in a tall unit is £110.

Questions about oven cleaning in Brixton

Can someone living in the City of London Almshouses book the oven clean?

Yes. A resident books in the usual way, by ringing the office or using the form, and the office asks for the cooker’s make and model on the call. The price follows the cooker: a single oven is £77, and the price list has every other item. The almshouses date from late Victorian times and form one of the three parts of the Trinity Gardens conservation area.

Will the office want a picture of my Brixton oven?

Possibly, for a double, a range or an AGA. It is arranged by phone and helps the office price the job right before the day.

Which Brixton zones are controlled on a Saturday?

Of the Brixton zones on Lambeth’s map, only Brixton Inner (BI), around the station, runs on Saturdays, from 8.30am to 6.30pm. Brixton B and Brixton E are weekday zones, ending at 5.30pm and 6.30pm. A bay the cleaner pays for is billed at cost, up to £40.
