Purpose-built blocks and divided houses held most households in the four Chelsea wards in 2021, so for oven cleaning in Chelsea give the office the block or house, the floor and the entry phone. A double oven is £110.

The four Chelsea wards, Royal Hospital, Stanley, Chelsea Riverside and Redcliffe, had 16,150 households at the 2021 census. Most lived in flats (80.5%), split between purpose-built blocks (57.8%) and houses converted into flats (20.5%), and 39.2% rented privately. Terraced houses held 14.5% of households, semis 3.6% and detached houses 1.3%. The type of home shapes the visit mostly through how the equipment reaches the oven.

Where SW10 crosses the borough line

The SW10 district does not stop at the edge of Kensington and Chelsea. Near Lots Road, an SW10 address may be in Hammersmith and Fulham’s Sands End ward, and then that council’s parking rules apply. Look at the signs on your street before the visit and tell the office which council’s they are. A bay paid for on either side of the line is added at cost, up to £40. Inside, the visit is the same anywhere in SW10: shelves, side runners and the tray soak while the cavity, door glass and seal are cleaned by hand in your kitchen, and the oven is switched on at the end to check it heats.

Visitor scratch cards on the council’s estates

Kensington and Chelsea gives every household on its own housing estates, World’s End included, up to three days of visitor parking a month at no charge. It comes as scratch cards for the bays marked VIS, used on a first come, first served basis. The cards are requested in advance from the Blantyre Street or Malton Road office. If you have a card to spare, the cleaner can use it; if no VIS bay is free, the cleaner parks on the street instead and that cost is added as paid, never above £40. Give the office your block name and floor as well.

A cooker wider than 60 cm in SW3 or SW10

A house in SW3 or SW10 may have a cooker wider than 60 cm. Measure across the front before you ring. At 90 cm a complete range is £143; at 100 cm or wider it is £167. Because ranges vary, the office may want you to send a picture of yours (it explains how on the call) so the price matches the cooker. Range cooker cleaning covers each cavity in turn, and the hob on top is £48 at range width.

Questions about oven cleaning in Chelsea

Does the fan cover at the back of the oven come out?

Where it unscrews, yes. It goes into the soak with the shelves and side runners while the cleaner works on the cavity behind it by hand.

Which door should the cleaner use at a Cheyne house with steps up to the front?

Whichever door is nearer the kitchen, and say which when you book. The council’s Cheyne appraisal notes that most houses there have steps up to a front door at raised ground floor level, with a basement door tucked under them and reached from the railed area in front. The single oven clean itself is the same either way.

What is the smallest booking?

The minimum is £67. A hob or a microwave booked alone is charged at that figure; added to an oven, each goes back to its own price on the price list.
