The Ibscott Estate stands where most of Dagenham’s old village, much of Crown Street included, was cleared in the 1960s and 1970s. There and in the terraces beyond, oven cleaning in Dagenham starts at £77 for a single with Cleaning Oven.

Dagenham here means six wards: Village, Heath, Alibon, Goresbrook, Eastbrook & Rush Green, and Beam. Between them they held 21,502 households in 2021, and 43.7% of those lived in a terraced house, 24.8% in a semi and 25.9% in a flat. Owners were 44.5% of households, social tenants 32.1% and private tenants 21.9%. The postcode districts are RM9 and RM10, in Barking and Dagenham.

Flats and maisonettes in Village and Heath wards

Two of the six wards have far more flats than the rest: 43.6% of households in Village ward lived in one in 2021, and 41.2% in Heath. What survives of the old village, St Peter and St Paul’s church with the vicarage and the Cross Keys inn, has been a conservation area from 31 January 1995. The Victoria County History records that after the war Dagenham’s old borough council built estates such as Heath Park, with a much larger share of multistorey maisonettes and blocks of flats than the Becontree estate. A maisonette often has its own inside stairs, and the cleaner carries everything up them, so give the office your floor, the door and any entry code. The kitchen work itself stays in the kitchen: the racks, tray and side runners soak, while the inside of the oven and the door are cleaned by hand.

Goresbrook and Alibon, the most terraced wards

Terraces held 58.1% of households in Goresbrook and 53.7% in Alibon in 2021, the highest shares of the six wards. Where the kitchen has a gas hob and a hood beside the oven, all three can go on one booking: £117 with a single oven, £143 with a double. The hood’s metal filters come out to soak; a charcoal filter is left alone, since most are made to be thrown away. The hob cleaning and extractor cleaning pages give the prices one by one.

PayByPhone’s first hour in Dagenham

The council’s car parks include the Heathway multi-storey and Wantz Road, both paid through PayByPhone, and the on-street pay-by-phone locations include Dagenham Avenue and Goresbrook Road. Across Barking and Dagenham the first hour on the street costs nothing when it is booked through PayByPhone, but only in one location a day, so a cleaner who has already used it elsewhere pays from the start. If the cleaner pays to park near you, you are charged exactly that, up to £40. Say when you book whether your road has bays, a driveway or neither.

Questions about oven cleaning in Dagenham

Does each rented flat in a Dagenham block need its own licence?

The council’s licensing guide says yes: in a purpose-built block of three flats or more, every privately let flat is licensed separately under selective licensing. That is between the landlord and the council. A landlord books the end of tenancy oven clean for the gap between tenants in the usual way.

Is a cooker with a grill compartment and an oven below it a double?

Yes, if each has its own door at standard width. Two doors are priced as a double, £110, which includes two trays.

Are the resident bays in the Heathway School Zone open to the cleaner?

Not between 8.30am and 5.30pm on a weekday, when the zone’s resident bays are controlled. The council extended the Heathway School Zone from 4 August 2025, and its pay-by-phone bays in those hours allow four hours at most, with no return within two. Tell the office if you live inside the zone, and the parking is planned with you on the call.
