Nearly half the households in Woolwich Arsenal ward rented privately in 2021, and a tenant leaving a riverside flat can book the oven on its own. For oven cleaning in Woolwich, Cleaning Oven charges £77 for a single and £110 for a double.

The three Woolwich wards, Woolwich Arsenal, Woolwich Common and Woolwich Dockyard, held 14,975 households in 2021, almost all of them in the SE18 postcode district of the Royal Borough of Greenwich. Flats made up 74.8% of them. The wards differ, though: Woolwich Arsenal was 45.5% private rented and 77.9% purpose-built flats, with 6.5% in shared ownership, while Woolwich Dockyard was 55.7% social rented, and Woolwich Common still had 29.3% of its households in terraced houses.

Booking in at the Royal Arsenal Riverside desk

The developer lists a concierge service that runs day and night at the Waterside Club, the residents’ club at Royal Arsenal Riverside. If your building uses it, let the desk know the cleaner is coming and give the office the building name and flat number, so the cleaner is not left waiting in the lobby with the equipment. Inside, a new flat usually has a built-in oven: a single under the hob, or a double in a tall housing. The shelves, tray and side runners come out to soak. The cavity and the door with its seal are cleaned by hand, then everything is refitted and the oven switched on to check it heats. A tenant can book it for the last days before handing back the keys, and a landlord for the gap between lets; central Woolwich sits inside the council’s selective licensing scheme, which runs to 1 October 2027. What a move-out visit includes is on the end of tenancy oven cleaning page.

Parking zones that run on Sundays

Three of the four Woolwich zones are controlled every day of the week. In Woolwich Arsenal, in Woolwich Common (WB) and in Woolwich Market (WM) the controls start at 8.30am and end at 6.30pm, Sundays included, so a weekend visit still means a paid bay. Woolwich Dockyard (WD) is the exception, controlled from 9am to 5pm on weekdays only. The cleaner pays for the bay or a tradesperson permit, and you are charged exactly that sum, up to £40. The office takes fewer Sunday bookings, so ask early if that is the day you want.

New homes on the old Connaught estate

Under its Woolwich Estates project the council is rebuilding the Connaught, Morris Walk and the Maryon Road and Maryon Grove estates, with over 1,500 new homes planned in their place. The Connaught came down in 2016, and its site is becoming Trinity Walk: upwards of 650 homes, of which over 230 are affordable. A kitchen in one of the new flats usually has a built-in oven and often a hood above the hob. If yours has one, it can be added for £28: its metal grease filters soak with the oven parts, while a carbon filter stays where it is, because most are made to be replaced. See extractor hood cleaning for the detail. In the older terraces around the Common the cooker may be freestanding, so measure its width before ringing.

Questions about oven cleaning in Woolwich

Can the cleaner come to a Woolwich flat on a Sunday?

Possibly. Bookings are taken every day of the week, but Sunday has fewer openings; the office looks at what it has and you settle the day together by phone.

My Woolwich flat is shared ownership. Can I book?

Yes. Whoever lives in the flat can book the oven, and it is priced on the oven’s size and type like any other booking. The price list has every item.

What if the cleaner cannot get into my building in SE18?

A visit where the cleaner is left outside the building can cost up to £50 of the deposit. Give the office a mobile number and tell the concierge, or whoever holds the fob, before the day.
