The Vermillion building reaches 21 storeys where Barking Road meets Silvertown Way, the densest corner of a centre built up in towers since the 1990s. Whatever the floor, Cleaning Oven’s single is £77 for oven cleaning in Canning Town.

Canning Town North and Canning Town South held 6,619 households in 2021. Flats held 70.9% of households (79.7% in Canning Town South alone), nearly all of them purpose-built (67.9%), and terraced houses 17.9%. Renting from a social landlord led at 40.9%, ahead of private renting at 34.6%, owning at 20.8% and shared ownership at 3.5%. By the Valuation Office’s 2025 count, 53.2% of the homes were built in 2000 or since. The postcode is E16, in the London Borough of Newham.

New towers by the Barking Road junction and at Hallsville Quarter

The council’s 2024 study describes those residential and commercial towers standing beside older buildings of two to five storeys along the high street. Phase three of Hallsville Quarter, developed by Linkcity, brings 620 homes, 50 of them for residents who need extra care. Across Canning Town and Custom House the council’s programme aims at 10,000 new homes, with 3,500 built or under way. In a flat of that age, count the oven doors: one makes a single at £77, two a double oven at £110. A ceramic or induction hob is £23, and a single oven with its hob and hood comes to £117. Say which block and floor when you book. The cleaner soaks the shelves, runners and tray, then hand-cleans the cavity, the door seal and the glass, taking the inner panes out only on a door designed to allow it.

Two zone timetables and a school street round Hallsville

The main Canning Town zone is enforced from 8am until 6.30pm from Monday to Saturday. Canning Town North keeps much shorter hours: 10am to 2pm, Monday to Friday only. A visit there outside that window, or any visit on a Saturday in the north zone, may need no paid bay at all; whatever the cleaner pays is billed to you as paid, £40 at the most. Hallsville Primary on Radland Road and St Luke’s Primary on Ruscoe Road share a Healthy School Street, zone H43, closed to general traffic from 8.15am to 9.15am and from 3pm to 4pm since 16 March 2026. For a home inside the zone the office sets the start after the morning closure.

Questions about oven cleaning in Canning Town

Can a relative book the oven clean for someone in an extra-care flat?

Yes. Anyone can book and pay; someone needs to be in on the day to let the cleaner start, since no keys are held. A carer or a neighbour can do that.

Can a visitor permit get the cleaner’s car into zone H43?

No. Newham gives no permit to residents’ general visitors for a Healthy School Street, so during the closures the car stays outside H43 and comes in once the restriction ends. Leave the oven off beforehand so it is cold, with the power and water on.

Should the concierge in a Canning Town tower know the cleaner is coming?

Yes, if the block has one: pass on the day of the visit once it is fixed on the call. Canning Town has had high-rise blocks since its first went up in 1961, so give the office the name of the building and your floor as well. The price list shows every item.
