If your house is one of the Victorian cottages along Church Path, measure the cooker and count its doors before you ring, because oven cleaning in Walthamstow with Cleaning Oven is priced that way: £77 for a single, £110 for a double.
Nearly half of the 39,977 households across Walthamstow’s nine wards owned their home in 2021 (45.4%), and houses and flats come close to an even split. Terraced houses held 35.9% of households and semis 11.2%, while 34.9% lived in purpose-built flats and 12.1% in flats carved out of houses. Private renters were 29.3% and social tenants 23.0%. All of it is E17, from the old village round St Mary’s church out to Wood Street, in the middle of Waltham Forest.
Cottages in Walthamstow Village and on the old Church Common
The village core around St Mary’s was designated a conservation area in 1967, with an Article 4 direction, and its Victorian cottages along Church Path are built in a mix of brown, plum, red and yellow stock brick. Next to it, the Orford Road conservation area covers what was Church Common, fenced off in 1850 and built on from 1853; the model cottages of Beulah Road and Eden Road were part of that. Count the cooker’s doors as well as its width. Two doors at standard width is a double oven, priced with two trays; one door is a single with one. The oven types guide explains the difference. Parts that lift out, shelves, side runners and fan cover included, are soaked while the cleaner hand-cleans the cavity, then the door, its glass and its seal.

Late controls round Walthamstow Central and the market
Two zones around Walthamstow Central station, High Street and Walthamstow Central, are controlled until 9.30pm: from 8am Monday to Saturday and from 10am on Sunday. Village North goes further, 7.30am to 10.30pm every day of the week, while the Village Area zone stops at 6.30pm and is free of controls on Sundays. Stalls have traded on the High Street since 1885, and the market now stretches for roughly a kilometre, Tuesday through Saturday, with none on Sunday or Monday. A flat above or behind the stalls is easier to reach on a Monday, so say so when you book. The bay fee is passed on at the figure paid, no higher than £40.
New homes on the Marlowe Road estate in Wood Street
The rebuilt Marlowe Road estate is to have 589 new homes, and 538 had been handed over by 4 December 2025, including 115 at social rent and 94 in shared ownership; the council expects the rebuild to finish in autumn or winter 2026. The estate is its own residents’ zone, Marlowe, controlled 7.30am to 10.30pm on all seven days, so tell the office the block and the nearest street. The Wood Street zones around it run only 10am to 4pm on weekdays. For a built-in oven, one door makes it a single and two a double.
Questions about oven cleaning in Walthamstow
Do I need coins for the cleaner’s parking in E17?
No. The cleaner pays for any bay, and that sum is added to your bill at cost, up to £40, next to the price of the oven clean itself. Waltham Forest has pay and display machines only around Walthamstow High Street; everywhere else in the borough, paying for on-street parking is cashless.
Will scratches on the oven door glass come out?
No. Scratched or discoloured glass, chipped enamel and rust are wear, and they stay. Burnt-on grease and carbon usually lift with the hand clean.
My Walthamstow Village road is filtered to through traffic. Can the cleaner still drive up?
Yes, though perhaps not by the obvious way. The council’s schemes in Walthamstow Village and in Hoe Street and Wood Street cut through traffic on residential roads, so the drive to a door can differ from the main-road route. Tell the office which end of your street a car can come in from; whatever the cleaner spends on a bay is passed on unchanged, £40 at most.
