Zone B’s two halves and the congestion charge line

Zone B is split in two. Its North Shoreditch half stays enforced until midnight six days a week, from 8.30am. In South Shoreditch control ends at 6.30pm from Monday to Friday and at 1.30pm on a Saturday. Short-stay bays in Shoreditch sit in the borough’s dearest band. The bay’s cost is added to your bill as paid, to a limit of £40. The southern tip of the ward, around EC2A 2BA and EC2A 4DP, lies inside TfL’s Congestion Charge zone, and Hoxton, like most of the ward, lies outside it. Hoxton Street Market trades on Saturdays from 9am to 4pm, in a conservation area of three- and four-storey buildings with a few 18th century houses among them. For a flat on the market stretch, say which door is yours and whether the visit falls on a Saturday. Beside the Regent’s Canal, the council’s Colville Estate rebuild will deliver more than 1,000 homes. Bridport House came first in 2011, then the Anthology towers in 2018 and Clift House and Dorchester House in 2019, and the next phase is due for residents in 2027. In those newer kitchens the hob can go on the same booking: a gas hob is £28, a ceramic or induction one £23, and a single oven with its hob and hood £117.

What is kept if a move-out date slips?

Nothing, if you tell the office two days ahead: with 48 hours’ notice the deposit moves to the new date or is refunded. Later than that, up to £50 is kept. The 14-day cancellation right a consumer has under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 is unaffected.
