The 270 homes of the old Rectory Park estate on the Ruislip Road came down in phases and were replaced by more new ones. In new flats and older semis alike, a single oven costs £77 when Cleaning Oven does oven cleaning in Northolt.

The two Northolt wards, Northolt Mandeville and Northolt West End, held 11,755 households in 2021. Flats accounted for 46.9% of them, and 42.1% were in blocks built as flats; semis were the commonest house at 28.5%, ahead of terraces at 21.1%. Owners made up 44.6% of households, social renters 27.7% and private renters 25.8%. All of Northolt is UB5, in the London Borough of Ealing.

Flats on the rebuilt Rectory Park estate

Rectory Park went up between the 1950s and the 1970s as two-storey houses, three-storey flats and medium-rise blocks. Network Housing Association has rebuilt it with the council, and the new homes are let at affordable rents, sold in shared ownership or sold outright, so the person booking may be a tenant, a part-owner or someone getting ready to sell. A kitchen that new usually has a built-in oven. Count its doors before you ring: one door is a single at £77, and two doors make a double oven at £110. Tell the office which block and which floor, and where to get in from the road, since the cleaner walks in with the equipment. Shelves, runners and the tray go to soak first; the cavity, both sides of the door glass and the seal are then worked over by hand.

The cooker in a Northolt semi

A house kitchen is more likely than a flat to hold a freestanding cooker, now and then a range. Up to 60 cm it is priced by its doors as a single or a double; at 90 cm with two ovens side by side it is a complete range at £143, and 100 cm or more is a master range at £167. Added on the same visit, the hob and the hood bring a single oven to £117 and a double to £143. The hob’s burner caps and pan supports soak with the oven parts, as do the hood’s metal filters; a carbon filter stays put, because most are made to be thrown away. A barbecue on the patio is cleaned where it stands, £64 for a small one and £100 once the cooking area is over 50 cm.

Zone QQ’s long day and Zone NS’s two hours

Northolt’s two controlled zones could hardly differ more. Zone QQ is enforced every day, 9am until 9pm, yet reaches only a few streets; Goodwood Drive, Sussex Crescent and Brighton Drive are three. Zone NS, named after Northolt station, covers parts of Mandeville Road, Eastcote Lane, Moat Farm Road, Kingsmead Drive and the closes beside them. It is enforced on weekdays for one morning hour (9am to 10am) and one afternoon hour (2pm to 3pm). A single oven is usually finished within an hour and a half of the cleaner arriving, so an NS visit fitted between those hours may not need a paid bay. Any parking the cleaner does pay for is added to your bill unchanged, never more than £40. Name your street when you book, and read the signs if it sits in neither zone.

Questions about oven cleaning in Northolt

How is a tall built-in oven priced in a UB5 flat?

By its doors, wherever it sits in the kitchen. Two doors one above the other make a double, which takes in two trays; each tray past that is £6. The price list has every item.

Can I book a weekday afternoon on Moat Farm Road?

Yes. The day and the rough time are agreed on the call, and if your part of Moat Farm Road is in Zone NS, 2pm to 3pm is the hour to plan around. A deposit of 50% secures the date, paid by card or transfer.

Can a faulty oven in a Racecourse Estate house be repaired on the visit?

No repairs are done: the visit is for cleaning, and no parts are supplied or fitted. The Racecourse Estate went up between 1951 and 1955 on the old pony-racing ground, and a cooker in one of its houses may have seen years of use. At the end the cleaner switches the oven on to check it works, so mention any fault when you book.
